Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Coastal Breeze Quilting! By submitting your quilt for longarm quilting services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These policies ensure transparency and set expectations for the quilting process.

2. The Longarm Quilting Process & Inherent Risks

Longarm quilting is a specialized technique that involves securing the quilt top, batting, and backing onto a quilting frame and stitching them together with a computerized or free-motion design. While every effort is made to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish, there are inherent risks associated with the process, including but not limited to:

  • Fabric Movement – Due to the nature of longarm quilting, slight fabric shifting may occur.

  • Puckering & Wrinkles – Although we take great care to keep the quilt flat during the quilting process, we cannot guarantee that minor puckers will not occur, especially if the quilt top or backing is not properly prepared.

  • Tension Variability – Thread tension is carefully adjusted for each project, but occasional inconsistencies may be visible, particularly with certain fabric and thread combinations.

3. Quilt Preparation & Customer Responsibility

To achieve the best results, we kindly request that customers prepare their quilts as follows:

  • Pressing – Quilt tops and backings should be pressed flat, with seams lying as smoothly as possible.

  • Thread Trimming – Loose or dark-colored threads should be trimmed to prevent them from showing through light fabrics.

  • Backing & Batting Sizing – The quilt backing and batting must be at least 4–6 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides.

  • Square & Flat Construction – Quilts should be as square and flat as possible to minimize the risk of puckering and distortion during quilting.

Coastal Breeze Quilting is not responsible for issues caused by improperly prepared quilts, such as excessive fullness, wavy borders, or fabric distortion.

4. Design Selection & Approval

Customers will have the opportunity to select a quilting design, thread color, and other details before quilting begins. Once a design is approved and work has begun, changes may not be possible.

5. Turnaround Time

The standard turnaround time for longarm quilting services is 2–4 weeks, depending on workload and design complexity. Current turnaround time is 1-2 weeks; however, delays may be possible.

6. Payment & Pricing

  • Pricing is based on the quilt size, the quilting design selected, and the desired design density.

  • A deposit may be required.

  • Full payment is due upon completion and before the quilt is returned.

  • For delinquent payments, the following will apply:

    • A phone call will be made as a reminder that payment due at the time of completion
